Chicago born, cinema-forged. Don Bitters was raised on everything from Spielberg to Raimi, Jeunet to Kurosawa. Don was awarded the Director's Scholarship to attend Columbia College where his short, A Death In Progress, received a Student Academy Award nomination. He later founded the award-winning, Los Angeles-based visual effects, production and graphics company 3rd Films.
His feature film directorial debut, Terrordactyl, was distributed worldwide in 2016 through MarVista Entertainment. His second feature Home Invasion, was released globally by Viaplay and Amazon. His short Star Wars: Generations was the winner at the 2016 Lucasfilm Celebration.
He has also done visual effects for numerous Films, Series and Commercials, including House of Cards (Netflix), Supergirl (CBS), Quantico (ABC), Perception (TNT), Paul Feig's Other Space (Yahoo), The Maze Runner (20th Century Fox) and God Particle (Bad Robot).
Don's unique approach to directing and writing is his expertise in visual effects allowing him to tell fantastic stories, full of interesting character and larger-than-life moments on every project no matter the scale. He continues to develop a growing slate of scifi, comedy, and action projects for TV, film, and digital platforms including video game design.
